Reasons why software projects go horribly wrong and how to break free from the cycle.
If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!

Edward Deane – Managing Director at 2excel Software and App Development

Presenting in person

This presentation will run through the 2excel step-by-step process which demonstrates how to consistently deliver software and apps on time, within budget and above expectation.

You can use the same method when looking at software solutions for your clients, whether off the shelf or for custom development.

We hope to share some of the many reasons why so many software projects fail and how you can avoid this with your clients by planning for a project correctly.

Who knows? This presentation might help you break free from a cycle of poor project management and rein in better business prospects, with the assistance of implementing improved planning strategies.

We will cover:

  • Recent interesting projects
  • Software scoping documents
  • Prototype examples
  • Project planning with scrum
  • Different testing plans for quality control

Security Stack - Part 1

Patrick Kissane, Burger IT

Presenting in person

As our clients have migrated to the cloud MSPs have naturally focused on the security and protections of data 'up there'. The prevalence of Microsoft 365 in our market and the excellent tools it provides to secure our clients' data online has created a blind spot for what has been left behind - network infrastructure that is often overlooked when it comes to patching and best practice configuration.

This open forum discussion will be around how MSPs can utilise the simple tools available to perform simple vulnerability scans of a client's network in order to identify risks and potential threats. The findings in these basic scans can be a stepping stone to engaging a 'real' security consultant to perform vulnerability assessments and penetration tests - and provide justification for network upgrades and ongoing security MRR for your business.
